Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Global Town Hall

Where to start? Someone has been reading the posts here because now all of a sudden Chapter11 wasn't the greatest thing ever and we took our eye of the ball in frontline staff and service. You think so, Paul?

How are DTG employees feeling? Hertz stage background, Hertz branded lectern, CEO wearing a Hertz polo, presentation themes all yellow (including the bricks for our apparently repaved road), the 5th MBO "Brand Strength" all about Hertz and the case study about a company rising from the ashes based on a very monobranded outfit that is Dominos. What happened to multi-brand? Good bye DTG, it was fun. We bought you, we ruined you and we are now throwing you from our digestive tract.

Kenny so enthusiastic. Revolver = credit card is genius. Boxing, car racing and cycling will help us. Would have been easier to sing Billy Ocean's When The Going Gets Tough.

Best moment of the town hall was Opal. In our humble opinion, ladies and gentlemen, completely unbiased and based on us wanting to save our jobs, we give ourselves 10 out of 10 in digitalization. Well ahead of the competition. Yet another executive oblivious to the world out there. WIth a track record of wasting millions on ONE and achieving late and well above budget completion with only a fraction of the original functionality. Yep, 10 out of 10. I mean how bad does Enterprise have to be to get 5/10? If car rental had a broader appeal, this stint could have easily been on SNL. Hilarious.

There you go, let it out. Feel better. Insults and misinformation. Sad that they didn't get early retirement when everyone else got the same when let go. I'm glad you are on top of federal laws.
Clearly you are angry, and need to make a statement on this site. I love how you compare working at Puerto Rico for $8 is slave wages. No onder it was franchised, if all the employees were freaking out with a 30 rentals for the day.

Did they mention the 4th wave and the Delta variant? TSA said it marked the "lowest checkpoint volume" in almost two months.

Major carriers are even starting to warn that a surge in cases and hospitalizations is hindering airline bookings again.

The new owners and franchisees wanted to pay slave wages 8$ an hour lady that for a family of 4 is poverty wages No one who works full-time should have to live in poverty, U say hertz sold to New people but didn't offer early retirement and gave only 30 days notice in violation of federal laws u are obviously misinformed and are drinking the kool-aid & I feel u are a plant to smear all Puerto Rico employees & front line employees of color because it gives u a huge black eye and nothing u say or do will change the fact of a company that's blind to their communities of color & of all the racism throughout American history to this particular people BTW its a insult u speculate on humans beings mental state or health just because they defer from ur twisted logic

Hertz paid my little bit of severance pay in 2020 when I was let go. My husband got covid, went on a ventilator in the ICU, while I was taking care of our 6 month old. We were all placed in a tough situation. I wish I had 20-30-40 years of service -I would have been able to get a new job much easier. Like everyone else, money ran out quick, took advantage of unemployment pay and made it work. Don't act like the word ended because you were let go from a rental car company. I'm not defending the company, I just stated the fact that Puerto Rico was bought by a franchise and the new owners didn't want any of the people. I'm sorry you are frustrated and angry. If this site helps you feel better, please continue to let out your feelings online. If it isn't helping, please talk to a real person that is educated to help you. I pray you find peace outside of Hertz.

There's always an a-s li---r apologist for top management trying to justify the injustices and abusive behavior of Hertz management, Hertz admitted to the lack of vision so it's obvious this hit a nerve There's nothing to take up with the new franchise owner they didn't fired employees of color with over 20,30 ,40 years of busting their backs hertz abandoned front line employees working and entire pandemic without hazard pay and didn't offer early retirement that's the fact and a teachers pet that's lacks dignity and professionalism isn't going to convince nobody

Puerto Rico location was franchised. The new owner didn't want any of the current employees. Take it up with the new owner.
