I quit a few months ago and I'm finally starting to recover from the damage Verizon inflicted on me. I was constantly belittled by my manager and talked down to like I am a kid and not somebody who knew my job ten times better than he did. I tried to approach his boss about it but my email was completely ignored. That only solidified my intention to leave. I have a new job and a normal manager and my mental health is now recovering. If you are in a similar situation, leave. It can only get better.

When can I be cool by quitting, only to then constantly think and post about Verizon on Verizon boards long after I've left? When can I be as cool as mandate boy?
How can any of you peons think that you are so special? If we can hire someone to do the job of 10 people, we will do so. I can then invest the stock profits from this move, into another million dollar vacation home, when the stock goes up .01 percent.
What is wrong with you people, why should we care about treating you like you are human? Just do your job.

Former IT here. Agree with the OP. Leave with your sanity. Was with MCI for 10+ years. Gobbled up by VZ in 2006. Dealt with the management dbags from BR and all of the teet suckling a-clowns in the NE thru their neverending contract negotiations/tactics up to the VSP. When it came I couldn't pull the handle on the escape hatch fast enough. Miss the pay, but quickly found more rewarding and appreciated work outside VZ. I come here periodically to get reminded why I left.
Run, don't walk away from this place. Its filled with a mix of skinny jeans wearing, tofu eating suck ups who are equally clueless as the experienced laborers who could give a rip and are riding it out until they die in their sleep in their trucks.

My BSM was awesome...but everyone above him was an id--t and tried to make us feel stupid. MPs, Directors, Executive Directors, VP’s. The higher up you go the more ignorant and arrogant they get. Sad sad sad
