Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Are all these branch closures really necessary?

I used to be anxious of any mention that someone was laid off but now I’m almost completely indifferent to rumors of branch closing in the fall. I believe it will not be nice here in October and I feel sorry for those who will be affected, but I was encouraged by the fact that I received two offers very quickly.

Advance branch closing notice: A bank's written notice to the OCC and the bank's customers, at least 90 days in advance of a branch closing, required by 12 USC 1831r-1. With limited exceptions, this notice is required of each insured institution when it intends to close a branch. Sept 22nd is likely a notice date with the closing happening in December.

What state are you in? I find this hard to believe since sept 22nd is on a Wednesday and Us bank has to give out 60-90 days of notice before closing a branch ….good try though!

It’s not a rumor my branch along with other 20 stores will close September 22nd. My issue is that no one “knows” what will happen to us. Rumors are the we will ge transfer to another branch for 30 days and during that time we will know if we get let go.

Key is to apply right after you hear the news. Sometimes taking a break will backfire on you
