My boss recently promoted one of our coworkers to manager (they live in the same small town) and they continuously make hostile comments towards another coworker that is not on the phone. How do you handle this? They lack the maturity to know what management truly is. It really bothers me.

Another retaliatory tactic used against those that file a complaint to HR is accusing them of not being a team player if they can’t find something wrong with the work product. The person does not attend team meetings or events. Then you are slated on the lay-off list.
Why don't we have real worker rights?
LOL. Spot on folks. I hate to admit this but the HR complaints is so true. I had to get involved. Heck ya. Once a complaint was reported to my boss he would laugh and he sent me on it. Send emails questioning their work. Trying to find something to put them on a CAP. Even asked other team members for help in finding something to put them on a CAP. Load them up with more work hoping for a fail. All this supported by our SVP. He even gave me a Bravo Award with a big THANK-YOU. Got rid of the four troublemakers and three of them happened while a former employee was suing the company. Don’t mess with the HR. Just being honest here. Oh and the VP and SVP were let go later on. But all of this happened and was encouraged. Oh even the legal team hired by UHG and OptumRx to defend the lawsuit we’re game for this behavior. Look it up. It was RB suing the companies.
It was and is US culture. Hustlers, hucksters, empty souls. Work is their life. Their being. Getting money, and lusting after it. Vile. The US was a business enterprise masquerading as a country.
It’s the company’s culture. Your classic dum-dum managers and directors that can’t find their as* with both hands and since they don’t know a thing about their operations they use their time to abuse their staff. That’s all they can contribute.
they dont care, and they dont care that they dont care. Crazy times, crazy. Who in their right mind would work there unless no other options or desperate?
Sounds like class action lawsuit is brewing... let me grab my popcorn! I'm placing my bet against UHG. It's about time they get reprimanded for their actions.
For the person who stated you can leave an anonymous statement with HR. Since HR does not conduct their own independent review the complaint is forwarded to the SVP and those who the complaint was made against and then the fun begins as they try and determine who made the complaint. A big no to HR. The company’s a cesspool of liars and cheats.
Staffed by CONtractors. HR is and was a bad joke.
HR is NOT your friend. they ONLY represent the corporation's interests. NEVER EVER trust HR. You have no real employment contract, we're all wi--y nilly employees slaving away for fraud street
Ask the US regime why they don't have worker/employment rights like every other development country? Employment at will doctrines ONLY in the US empire. Get fired/termed for no reason, any time, or any reason (except the race, s-x, religion). Living to work sick and vile "country"
This place is a toxic he-l ho-e!
Common at Optum and when reported to HR like others say, you get retaliated against because HR is a joke. Find another job because this is the worst company culture on earth. Your mental health will thank you.
You can leave an anonymous message with HR.
Agree with not contacting HR. They do not conduct the investigation but turn it over to the SVP and Directors to investigate. Then the games begin. Retaliation against you for sure. If it bothers you find another job because these is the culture at this company.
Dont contact HR. What a waste. They are staffed by contractors who report to dome company rep who contacts the manager in question. They then to plot against all involved
If it bothers you, call them out on their behavior. By keeping silent, you are creating a space that allows the behavior to continue.
