Any recommendations on other insurance companies in the DFW area to switch to or should I stick with State Farm? In my late 20’s and don’t want to get “stuck” and not continue progressing.
Right now, contemplating on accepting a management offer with Liberty Mutual, with a 30% higher pay, but slightly worried I may be going from an “ok” situation to an even worse situation.
Thoughts?
Goosehead, currently largest growing P&C insurer in America has their HQ in DFW area and has great reviews from their employees. Current growth rates anticipate them taking over SF in 10 years. Different sales/distribution model than antiquated SF model. Worth checking them out.
Honestly, the insurance industry as a whole is not what it used to be. I would suggest staying away altogether if at all possible.
Country Churns and burns the same employees. And keeps it all in the same family. Their HR is buds with many locals. Nothing to brag about.
As bad as double dipping in the university and public sector works.
Stay away from Farmers. I worked there and the place was a rolling dumpster fire.
LM is a worse sh-t show than SF. I've had several peers leave for LM and they quit within 6 months. Same stupid EOM, metrics etc....their Execs and SF's read the same books and go to the same Exec retreats to jerk each other off over the same useless ideas!
LiMu is a meat grinder, 2 of my former SF peer went there; ine quit within 2 months and the other one quit after 4 months. Check out USAA, Farmers, Progressive, Chubbs, Amica. More importantly, make sure you network and talk to people that are in the roles you're applying for. Don't go to another insurance carriers blindly because you don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Since you are young, develop skills and options because Insurance claims is a very taxing career, many stayed because of the golden handcuffs, don't let it happen to you. I left SF last week, and it too me 10+ years to leave. I left for another career path to save my mental health. I'm grateful that SF afforded me a middle class lifestyle and paid my house off but there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Friend of mine got severed in the 200 HR let go a few weeks ago. 50+ old, 30+ with SF. Got a higher-paying job at Country immediately. SF gave a year's salary as severance!
