Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How is it optional if mandatory?

So we are told it’s a violation of COBC if you don’t get vaccinated and that you have to attest and upload your card as proof (or be in violation). Yet all through the attestation flow, it says it’s voluntary and optional and you have to consent as such before you can move through the flow. A mandate/requirement is NOT optional. That feels like a lawsuit alone.
My attestation wasn’t voluntary or optional. It was under duress that I’d be fired. It’s gross to me that I had to disclose which vaccine I received, too.

In hindsight, I wish I’d have fought it. I could’ve gotten a doctor note to confirm vaccination but not give the details. Why wasn’t that an option? It’s really upsetting and I feel violated.

ATT has NEVER paid any of my medical claims, because I never reach my deductible. Does that mean I don’t have to show them my vaccination card?

You must remember the company provides you with health insurance and is entitled to your medical records. They pay all the claims, not the insurance company.

Wow… not cool… respect how others feel…your angry and hate is heard loud and clear through your response to person who feels violated. You should take it easy on them and not get so upset from other perspectives. Wishing you well…

Mandating an experimental M RNA gene therapy jab for something that has a 99% survivor rate is laughable at best. Make no mistake there will be legal ramifications going forward

I think its BS myself, but to answer the original question, this is optional and voluntary because the government can't mandate citizens take it without passing new laws. And AT&T isn't violating HIPAA if you are "voluntary" providing that medical information.

AT&T is basically twisting our arms behind our backs...get vaccinated, provide us proof, or find a new job. AT&T is an at-will employer. They can make vaccinations a job requirement, and it isn't against the law. The courts already ruled on that.

I got vaccinated. I have my vaccination card. I did it to keep myself, my family, and my friends safer. But I resent being forced to provide proof to keep my job. Its just one more piece of privacy that they are taking away from us.

There is no reason to provide which vaccine was selected. For a dr-g test, the company doesn’t get to know (AND STORE) what other medicines you’re taking. They get the result and that is all. It’s over-reach plain and simple.

And for little boy who keeps copy/pasting - vaccinated adults are talking about important privacy concerns. This discussion isn’t for lemmings who freely provide unnecessary medical information to their employer without thinking twice. (Ie: you).

To answer the question in the original post as to why the online attestation verbiage does not line up with the new vaccination policies released last week…it’s because like nearly everything they do, they completely bolloxed up the communication and execution of this. You’d have thought for sure that HR would have insured that the online attestation (which has been in place for months) was checked and updated to be in alignment with the new policy. Ah, no. Look for it to be updated in the next few business days. Probably after some bonehead that monitors this forum reads this.

How often to show your driver’s license as evidence that you are who you say your are or are licensed to drive, get a credit card, test drive a vehicle, see a house/apartment…..?? You probably had to provide it during your prescreening or first day of employment. And your DL has far more ‘personal’ information that a paper COVID card. The degree of stupid here is unbelievable.
I mean…really….ignorance.

Did you feel violated when you were asked to take a dr-g test prior to employment? I bet you gleefully peed in the cup and got a nice chunk of hair cut while you smiled like a Cheshire Cat. After all, you were about to get paid more money than you’d ever made….So cut the complaining and whining now….like you have some point to make. You don’t. The pushback from you people for something so simple is evidence that you should not be allowed to work around customers or colleagues. Disgraceful behavior.

At some point they will have to accept a dr note as confirmation. There is absolutely no reason they need to see my card or know which vaccine I chose. The overstep here is ridiculous and I’m shocked that more people aren’t outraged by it.

I am NOT uploading my vaccine card online! When I get fired for non compliance it will get ugly. Getting vaccinated is a personal choice, and I chose to get vaccinated,,, but why do I need to report my personal choice to my employer?

OP thanks for posting! You took the words out of my mouth. I also got the vaccine (in April) but I have not posted my personal medical info into the HR mandatory optional attestation site.
