Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BofA is going to be in a bad place if something isn't done about attrition

My team lost three people in three weeks. That's put a major strain on the rest of us and I have no idea how long we'll have to continue like this since hiring is going at a snail's pace. I'm not even sure why people are talking about layoffs - who the he-l are they going to lay off when everybody is leaving on their own??? We need more, not fewer employees. I'm not sure the work will get done at all if it continues like this.

23 years with the bank, leadership cares zero about people leaving. If they backfill the position, there will be no shortage of people who post and they will hire someone for less money then the person who left. Also get to claim an outside in view of the business and grab ideas. We aren’t that important, and the companies knows that

Loss of institutional knowledge is real and definitely has a negative effect; however, it's not easy to quantify and measure given the multitude of variables at play. Lookbacks might be able to see trends/dips but by then it's too late to do anything. Instead of cruise control at 70mph, the car slows down to 55 but eventually gets back up to 70mph.

35 years with the Bank. I saw so many people come and go. Every once in a while, a 'key', 'irreplaceable', 'crucial' team member decided to leave and we thought it would be the end of the world. Guess what ? The world did not end. The Bank survived, and within a very short time, the star performer is forgotten. Sad but true. Everyone is replaceable.

they backfill in india....sub par talent. We had a whole team of 5 people quit and all was replaced for 10 in india. Nothing is getting done.
Bank is slowly becoming Bank of India.

The whole point of this RTO posture from the Bank’s leadership has been to drive attrition so they are getting some of what they wanted to accomplish.

Expect to see many open roles back filled in India…
