8% NSI Target For Different Business Units

Is it true different business units have different NSI targets? Overall, the average is 8%. The distribution of NSI's is set by HR when they merge the lists. Years of service, age, and salary etc are all factored in.

I work in a polyethylene plant. I can attest to the varying NSI Target. We did not need to pip 8% because plastics business has been the biggest cash cow.

A number of business lines had virtually no NSI.
They are either essential for the future - Trading, e.g.
Or they will be sold off in the near future - Chemicals, e.g.

Last year, I was one of the very few in Chemicals that got NSI’d. Was no where near 8%.

Of course, I took the PIL and GTFO.

Very, very few business units were able to obtain an exception to 8%. My business unit was basically promised we would get it and then when it came time we were told to PIP 8%.

HR has nothing to do with any of this.
Analysis and objectives are defined by external consultants.
Yes - different business units have different NSI percentages.
What do you think - areas of little worth to the new model will be retained?
Silly goose.
