Once again a female CEO at Optum has directed a large task force to work the weekend on a bid that wreaks of nepotism while she retreats to her home the on the cape. She gave her team “a treat” by agreeing to join a Friday call and tell them for 15 minutes how proud she was of everyone who works weekends so that we can warm more for the higher ups. Good job all, she said. I will check in from the beach.

Isn’t this just Capitalism? During the BP gulf oil spill the CEO was on his yacht. Banks that were getting taxpayer bailouts awarded their top executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses, and other benefits. We complain, but this is just how capitalism works. Profits first and the largest sum of the profits goes to the top 1%, because they can.

If your boss calls you after work hours, then call him back when he is sleeping, repeatedly, asking lotsa questions. We did the same with our past manager and from that moment he always thinks twice and thrice before calling.

Working at the office instead of at home isn't a life risking thing anymore than going to the grocery store or a restaurant is. People want to work from home because its far easier, less stressful, and more productive because people are focused on their job instead of working their way into office cliches and trying to make it like high school. They're trying to get imbeciles back to the office with ice cream party obsessions-what's this? Kindergarten....corporate America. They "really" care abt your health yet want us to take unpaid sick days....
