Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

Is treatment of pregnant women really so bad here?

Someone's post about how HR is shaming a woman for going on maternity leave shocked me again. Recently, a friend also told me that she is afraid of losing her job just because of that. Is it possible that this company treats pregnant women so badly? If that’s true, it’s really a shame!

I’ve seen a women shamed and accused of not being committed to the company when her child was sick, told she couldn’t be counted on anymore since she became a mother.

Yah, A.C. would have been in charge at that time. It's been troubling to see his "leadership" style trickle down to some of his newer reports, and then down to the managers/supervisors. TSU is ugly and it wasn't always this way. The old donkey needs to be handed an early retirement.... problem is that none of his direct reports (or their reports) are competent enough to take over. In his defense, A.C. likely had no idea about the situation described here with the female staff member. Almost certain of that. The HR Analyst at the time, Sauve-Hynes would have overseen everything from an HR perspective... An individual so shamelessly incompetent and unqualified in her role at Pembina yet somehow still has a job here. If you have read horror stories on this site from current or former staff, odds are she is somehow involved and made the situation infinitely worse and has cost the company money. Another donkey who needs to go.

I believe it was A.C. who is/was heading up TSU so no big shocker there! Pembina has a great way of getting rid of great VP's and keeping those who have very little self awareness.

The posts here about the young gal who was pregnant and shamed by her team due to their workloads increasing, and HR treating her like she did something wrong is sadly true. I supported their BU at the time and heard all about it. Contrast that to another BU I worked with where they had an office baby shower for an expecting mom and the VP even showed up with a gift. All depends on who you work for. Some people have class and others are just s***ty human beings. The BU who treated the woman like dirt deserves to be shamed and it was TSU circa 2016.
