Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

What would restore your motivation?

I see here only a bunch of demotivated and disappointed people who work to pay bills and who increasingly despise their job. No wonder because SF leadership is very successful when it comes to demoralizing employees. I wonder if there is anything that could fix and restore the lost motivation here?

Dump the lean six sigma approach…..not so much damn micromanaging and enough people to properly service customers……also better work/life balance for claims people!

Get rid of uneducated and inexperienced Scrum Masters (really coordinators) in ET and systems & have TMs, Managers and Directors actually do real work and their jobs.

Quit letting third parties and consultants that are now convenient internal and Management run efforts.

End nepotism in management as other insurance & finance organizations companies do.

Fix pay bands - they are not realistic and a waste of policyholder money.

Stop the ridiculous bulky HR and project management and leadership behaviors and
Get with the real world and get real life experience. Not hand pals roles cause they exist and pass their work to others. That’s not experience. The whole role and rating system is clearly set up like shady tech companies.

Conflicts of interest do not help organizations in the long run.

I think terminations should help motivate people to stop whining and do their jobs. People act like they are coal miners vs sitting in a professional environment taking calls. The future of how americans view work is terrifying.

If the company went back to operating like it did pre-metrics. Also, if management actually cared about its employees. The changes that the company has made over the past decade has been eye opening as to how little management actually cares about its employees and is willing to go along with a toxic business plan

Look at quality claim handling not micro managing useless statistics. Promote competent employees and look for real leaders. Stop with the excessive ideology driven id politics.

Quit letting 3rd parties and shady systems and all their partners/husbands/wives and university buddies be leads and decision makers.

Stop integrating shady systems and stop the infiltration of spying and surveillance and calling it security, risk management and HR and calling it “managing”.

Stop letting the wrong inexperienced folks run and implement projects and get promotions.

The list goes on.

Follow the money and agendas. There is a good reason other reputable companies don’t allow those conflicts of interest.

Tippy and his crew will leave in a few years with millions in bonuses after they hollowed out SF; then leaving the carnage for the next administration to rebuild the brand. Took them 5 years to destroy 95 years of reputation. They should stop listening to all these outside firms such as McKinsey, Deloite, and Korn Ferry, and start to find their own identity. Treat employees with respect and stop running the company like a a production sweatshop when they are a service company. Stop relying on internal survey results, and start researching all the reviews of all emolyment websites to truly gauge the sentiment of the workers. If most of the workers wouldn't recommend SF as an employer for their friends and family then that pretty much sums it up where things currently stand.

How do you resolve infidelity in a marriage? The first thing is both should be 100% honest without fear of retaliation. Then and only then, there may be a chance at reconciliation.
