Recall of the week

MADE FORD STRONG?

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2015-2020 Ford Transit models due to an issue with the passenger side parking brake cable.

The defect: in affected vehicles, an incorrect driveshaft torsional damper service kit may have been installed, which can allow the damper shield to contact the parking brake cable, increasing the risk of a crash.

The hazards: over time, parking brake cable contact with the damper shield will abrade the parking brake cable. Abrasion of the parking brake cable could result in diminished load-carrying capability when the parking brake is applied. If the parking brake cable fails, the parking brake will no longer hold the vehicle in place, creating the risk of unintended vehicle movement.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: driveshaft torsional damper service kit.

Affected vehicles: select 2015-2020 Ford Transit vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels built at the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant between June 5th, 2015, and December 17th, 2020.

Love it. Instead of having an Employee of the Week/month 'wall' at Ford, it can be changed to Recall of the Week/month. Of course, every wall at FMCC will be covered by the vehicle pictures.

Oh but we have all the no experience kids and diversity hires / promotions that will magically fix everything based on absolutely nothing. AND the fact Ford is expediting the elimination of all experience so the children and diversity have no internal competition. Buyer of Ford products beware. If us employees won't buy the products.....well you do the math.

Just wait until we harvest our summer crop of Mustang Mach-E's and F-150's that have been sitting around waiting for chips.

Going to be a busy year for dealers as customers need help keeping the hot rot fleet running.
