Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

How many of you would walk away if vaccines are mandated?

Be honest. I'm already vaccinated, so this wouldn't affect me one way or another, but I'm curious to know how many people would be willing to put their livelihood on the line over this. Especially considering that more and more companies are moving towards requiring a vaccine, which will leave very few places to find a replacement job at.

Well Fam, what's everyone gonna do? Our Unions won't protect us & GE is probably giddy at the prospect of forcing this poison into our bodies. They can't staff my store as-is let alone when we all leave. There's a million more jobs out there than job applicants, many of which pay better and aren't moralless employees like Laura and her crew of yes men (sorry didn't mean to assume their gender because they all sit down to p-e). Hold the line. There's better opportunities out there. GE will go down in flames if they try to enforce these "requirements" from Prez.

I dont think GE will mandate it if the want to keep a labor force. They cant staff the stores as it is now. Many people feel strongly about not getting the vaccine and I think many will quit if forced to and staffing the stores will be nearly impossible.

I would absolutely walk away. Let's be honest about what's going on here though. As a TM who identifies as being of color this is their way to get rid of us. It's well known that people of color are the most vaccine hesitant (followed by people with PhD's but don't have any of those at the company!). They claim to be about "Standing Up Against Racism" but what about the 70+% of the black population in San Francisco (where GE has TMs at no less!) not being welcome at the same restaurants as their white, vaccinated, fellow Americans? Guess GE really doesn't care about them. If YOU want a vaccine, then get a vaccine. If YOU want to force ME to get a vaccine then don't pretend
that you think vaccines really work, because if you thought they did you wouldn't care if I was vaccinated, only about yourself. And spare me the bleeding heart argument about "doing it for those who can't get the shot". Stop using those people as a prop. They'll be trash to GE as soon as they're done using them for everything they're worth. So my advice, talk to your doctor and decide what's best for you. Anyone at the Corporate office who thinks they can force thos, GFY.

They way employees are leaving this company I don’t think they will have anyone left to worry about. Horrible company and it’s starting to show with the mass amounts of employees quitting. I think years of treating employees like garbage is catching up to them..

Giant Eagle purposely doesn't give enough hours to make most people eligible for health insurance so raising health insurance rates won't affect alot of people
