Meanwhile upper leadership wants to pretend COVID isn’t happening, send a bunch of freight to the stores, and create more processes that unintentionally send more freight to the store because there aren’t enough people to run those processes. The company puts more focus on the metrics around these processes than the customer, even though they say the metrics are an indicator for serving the customer and availability. Vicious cycle that’s going to cause a lot of damage, likely irreparable damage, to the brand in the long run. Just my observations. Oh, teaming doesn’t work, especially in a pandemic.

While not perfect, the DMs in once was good stores like mine use to be was atleast keeping the store in decent shape even in the height of the pandemic last year. I have never seen such a sh-t show which immediately started last November in my 25+ years at Walmart.
It doesn't even feel like Walmart anymore. In the past when Unions attacked Wal-Mart I rolled my eyes. If they did it today, they would stand a better chance.
The "Walmart culture" that use to exist was put to rest with GWP/Teaming. They will struggle when the pandemic sales is no longer masking the mistakes that was made.
As many as they can grind to dust. They do not care about anyone.
Exactly. Keep shoving freight and unachievable metrics at stores. Stores cannot keep up. Have hard time keeping people and the people who show up are doing the work of 2-3 people because the same people keep calling in and aren’t held accountable for attendance. It pi---s off the ones who do show up and work hard because those who keep calling in aren’t appreciated. Metrics looks good on paper but they are unachievable because stores are short staffed. Teaming is not working Walmart. Another failed process but the market doesn’t want to hear that because they tell you stores cannot hit metrics because stores aren’t on process. Stores are struggling to work freight day after day while being short staffed and can’t be on process. It’s a vicious circle with no end plus add the pandemic in and it’s a literally sh-t show. Corporate refuses to listen. Maybe the company should come in stores and talk to the associates who bust their butts everyday. They know the real truth but no one wants to listen. Market comes in and has unrealistic expectations of people when many of them have never done the job of an hourly associate especially in the pandemic but still expect perfection. I feel sorry for associates.
If more freight gets sent to the store where is it? WM is always hit or miss whether I can get everything on my shopping list. Which is why they have become my last resort for my groceries.
