The high attrition is what ExxonMobil senior leaders want. This is part of their plan and they want you to resign and leave. The headcount must shrunk with the EM footprint and importance of our company as we decline. We want to reduce operating expense so less people must go.
If they didn’t want people to leave, they would have tried stem the high attrition. The fact that they haven’t tried anything means they want people to leave. The HR decisions have been supremely poor but well thought out and hence they want people to realise that EM do not value people.
What they haven’t realised yet is the good people will be the first out.
