Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Fodder for layoffs

I wish more new hires who seem so happy to join Cisco knew they were only being brought on to be used as fodder for layoffs a year or so down the line. Cisco has to even out the numbers somehow to avoid being accused of age discrimination during layoffs, after all. It's sad to see people who believe they landed their dream job crushed when they get their walking papers. It's cruel and heartless, but it's the Cisco way.

"when the existing long term talent is leaving or planning to leave due to too much politics"

where is all this talent? i see layers of politicians and people without marketable skills left. who would stick around to witness constant layoffs?

Forget layoffs, the fact of the matter is Cisco has lost its plot to retain talent.

Throwing money at new hires is not an answer to rebuild the brand, when the existing long term talent is leaving or planning to leave due to too much politics, prevalent incompetence and short term head in the sand actions by decesion maker.

Cisco was a great company once.. no doubt, not so much anymore.

No publicly announced layoffs in 7 months. Look up the restructuring costs in quarterly reports. Not all layoffs are publicly announced.

No LRs for the past 7 months.

Has it come that far that you can only go back 7 months til a LR occurred? They've been almost annual since '11, which is sad.

Welcome to the morally corrupt corporate america. Look at the people that survived numerous layoffs... what horrible things did they do to other people to survive?
