The vCMTS aka cloud native broadband router has been canceled and the whole team laid off. RIP CISCO in the cable industry.

There was no layoff from what I heard. People were just moved to other projects.
It's sad but tech is evolving rapidly. It's hard to face the fact that one can be so experienced in something that is rapidly disappearing. Time to jump sideways or find something else you like and can make money from.
I worked on this and no one was laid off. Everyone moved to something else.
I feel bad for you losing your job, but cable is so 2010.
