part of the problem is they don't always know what those multiple other systems even are
@1euk, it cracked me up when JS said that WF was like any other software house, except WF has accounts! ClueLESS.
Substandard systems with substandard employees and leadership...
Come on! Anyone, who works here, knows that our technology is a major weakness.
It is not a matter of if, but when, a major outage exposes our leadership for their lack of planning and spending in this area.
The dirty truth is it cannot be fixed at this point. They would have to shut us down for a year. Too many of the systems are intertwined and one cannot be replaced without affecting multiple other systems - so they just keep kicking the can down the road. We are stuck with 1980’s technology, made barely functional with vendors who aren’t much better. The back-end is held together with a mind-bending amount of manual workarounds.
And, when it goes, our so-called backup plans are a joke.
@1jnc+1dFcMIun yeah, wow! Good thing not a lot of people use Apple products!
WTF is wrong w/ people at this place? Always comparing some cr-p situation with a crappier one. Not in an optimistic way, more like a who gives a sh-t way.
Oh, so no big loss then.
Serious outage? Not even close. The article is wrong. They are mixing issues from a week ago with ADP and what happened today.
Only Apple users were affected today.
Uh oh, someone did not unskill on pluralsight
let me take a sip of my coffee
Watch Saul send a communication explaining that this is why we need to outsource DC management.
So that's what happens when you hit The Big Red Button in the data center...
Allow me to sp-t out my coffee.
