Thread regarding Optum layoffs

They are not trying enough to change things for the better

Leadership seems to have no vision. Everything is so sluggish. It’s amazing to me that no one is even trying to better this company anymore. I guess they think that the situation as it is now is sustainable.

Perhaps they don't know how? Maybe they don't need it?
Or maybe they are not even aware that there is an urgent need to make improvements?

I went above and beyond. I mean ABOVE AND BEYOND. We were extremely behind on projects and I had a training course that required like 5 tests to complete. I studied on my own time at home and instead of me taking the full week long course, I tested out in 6 hours. I then spent the rest of the week doing all the projects to ensure we were ready. My boss gave me a pat on the back, and said "We are going to have something special for you on your year end review!"

Year end review comes. I receive a plaque with my name on it, and they talk about me in the company meeting with clapping and smiles.

I went above and beyond! My raise will be HUGE!

The next day I get a 1% raise just like everyone else.

There's no incentive for the corporation/US empire to really improve. Their only objective is getting money and more money, and endlessly expanding-that's US capitalism. LOL---those "townhalls"--it's called American propaganda. Most employees had corporate Stockholm syndrome and thorough doses of brainwashing by main stream "media". IF one chooses to attend "town halls" -then they're likely part of the problem. You "win" by not participating in the grand scam.

The below reply is correct. It is all about profit, executive leadership compensation, and stockholders, mainly the major holders. Members and Employees are nothing but hinderances to profit. It is what it is. But do not fall for all the false junk that is spread on every townhall, leadership call, I do not even attend anymore it is such bs. Nothing will be done to improve things for employees.

Why would employees want to make any "positive" changes, make it "better." It's not our company. We do not own this place. We are easily fungible. We're not vested. It's a 8-6P, 9-7P and ba bye.
