Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Confused About Latest News on Vax Mandate

From watching the news, I understood that deadline for vax mandate (for 100+ employee company) got pushed back to early January 2022. But the news said if employee refused the vax, then that employee needs to be subjected to covid testing which is different than saying "if you refuse, then you will get fired" (which is Greg Hayes' latest all-hands-email to us).

So how come we are not getting an all-hands-email from Greg in which he updates his vax mandate...from..."if you refuse the vax, then you will be fired"...to..."if you refuse the vax, then we will test you on a regular basis". These two statements are very different (but I'm not an English major) (I'm an engineer with cr---y grammar).

The option for testing is for companies with 100+ employees. RTX is executing the different mandate for government contractors.

I like the freedom to guy fear mongering that you’ll die from covid if you catch it lol. 1 percent fatality rate and here you are showing us another example of some id--t Raytheon is being inclusive by keeping on the books

You've the freedom to do what you want:

  1. You've the freedom to not get the shot get the risk of COVID and die
  2. You've the freedom to get the shot and still get infected from a mutation and not die, but still, keep your job with health coverage.
  3. You've the freedom to not get the shot and seek work elsewhere, but still be at risk
    to catch COVID and die.
  4. You've the freedom to catch COVID, hope you recover, and build a natural immunity
  5. You've the freedom to seek an exemption from taking the COVID shot due to medical
    or religious reasons.
  6. You've the freedom to believe that reptilian space aliens have taken over the
government and are setting up an oligarchy

See? Isn't freedom grand?
Best of luck with your risk assessment.

People saying shut up and take the shot are mo--ns. This policy has longterm implications. I think it's odd that we were given essential worker status to come to work in the beginning of all of this while the entire country was locked down. We were at the peak of this pandemic with no understanding on how to treat our prevent the illness. Now, nearly two years later, we are required to take a shot that does nothing to stop transmission of the virus. If we don't then we lose our jobs. This shot went from being a sliver bullet to it will keep you out of the hospital to if you go to the hospital you most likely won't die. I could see if there was an option available that actually stopped transmission, but this isn't that and there's no logical reason to mandate this shot. To go from you have to come to work in the midst of a virus that is so serious we have to lock the country down to you made it through that but now if you don't get this largely ineffective and potentially risky shot you will no longer be employed is a slap in the face to the employees in my opinion. What is raytheon going to do for the families of the inevitable few employees who are no longer able to work or worse due to adverse reactions from the available shots that they were required to take. The fact that they are accepting exemptions is great and all but at the end of the day this should not be happening. It should be encouraged, incentivized, and voluntary at most. To all those saying just get the shot I say do what you want but you should consider the long term ramifications of this kind of policy becoming common place. If they will require their work force to undergo a medical procedure with no long term understanding of the potential risks of that procedure what else will they do.

You apply for a religious exemption, they have to accept it by law. Not a big deal

Are they actually going to fire people or just lay them off/LOA subject to recall once they prove vaccination?

I did take the shot (due to being rejected for any kind of exemptions), and it was detrimental to my health (as I predicted this scenario to me doctor with no success). So at this point, I am more interested in "stopping the bleeding" meaning...

I believe every minute the definition of "fully vaccinated" is changing. So early next year, Greg will probably announce that booster shots are mandatory to be considered "fully vaccinated". Then he'll announce yearly flu shots are mandatory to be "fully vaccinated". This is basically a BLANK CHECK for Greg to inject whatever he wants into his employees.

It's like Greg had a dream and was visited by the 3 stooges (past, present, and future). And these 3 stooges all told him he's going to he-l. So now he is evangelical/crusader/missionary man on mission to be the savior of his employees so that he can buy a ticket to heaven (and add CRT along the way).

The Raytheon policy is the Raytheon policy. What you’re watching transpire on TV is the government trying to mandate it. And the dates being discussed are part of what the government would make mandatory. As it stands the current time frame and requirement for Raytheon is entirely done because Raytheon wants to. So even if Biden’s mandate is blocked 100% Raytheon will still require you have it. Don’t get to tied up in it, it’s confusing but at the end of the day it’s a requirement to continue having employment here. I think all of this is a big crock of sh-t, the whole deal with the shots. But I’m a nobody and this thread is going to blow up with vaccine jerkoffs telling you to shut up and take the shot.
