I’ve noticed that many people are unhappy because they don’t know when to actually leave. They wait, they procrastinate, they hope that something will change, in the meantime they become less marketable, more frustrated, etc... Everything indicates that they need to change the company, however, they are still waiting for the matter to fix itself. Nothing will change for the better until you make the change yourself, that is, resign and go where you will be more appreciated.

Ditto to @sjj. We get paid decently well, most of us work with good people, benefits are very good, and the job is reasonably challenging. And they are always tossing packages our way. So unless you have an ideal job waiting for you, there is little incentive to leave until they pay you to go. Kind of sad but true. It does stifle people a bit but at the end of the day for most of us it's about maintaining a standard of living without losing our minds. We try to do things in our private lives to satisfy what we aren't getting from the job, and so we go on reasonably satisfied.
Abandon ship. Good luck.

Resign? Never leave without a severance package. Not sure what company you’re posting about.
