Union: is this an answer or will it add to the problem?

Serious, unbiased question. I think the conversation should happen.

Would a Union benefit us at this point? Or has that ship sailed?

a time for union building would have been long ago like back in 2002...before we had the first benefits vote and the labor was structured to have more full timers vs. part timers..we had many long term lifers in the company back then...this is in the era when that madison wisconsin store voted to unionize....they have slowly ever so slowly cut benefits and labor budgets to create the he-l ho-e that bezos bought up...and we all know how "no p-e breaks" amazon works.....amazon wants turnover so as employees leave before getting too organized into wanting labor negotiations.. when they cut mackey's little capitalist program of "gainsharing" was the end of our chances...take your 15$ per hour and shut up.....

feel the same way as the above poster. it is over. It may have been a valuable option a couple of years ago when there was something worse saving or fighting for. Most long time tm's i know who are still with this company are some of the most depressed people i know and don't care about much aside from collecting a paycheck. I would add a comment about new tm's, but none of them stay long enough for me to even learn their names. Amazon didn't have to "union bust" up front, because they effectively did it through the back door by destroying inspiration and motivation and creating a culture that is motivated by fear and desperation. I too am on my way out, and i couldn't be happier. I will warm my hands on the flames.

considering most of the long timers left my store and the kids left dont plan on staying or give 2 sh*ts about working here... i would say that ship has sailed. Also, none of my fellow low paid employees can afford to have union dues taken out of their paychecks lol. im on my way out so i dont care either TBH but it wont happen IMO
