RTO - Stay or Go

What is the overall vibe you’re hearing on if people are going to return to the office or leave before that ever happens?

@ucru+1dKNAq4X I didn't even need to provide an ultimatum. Approved no questions asked. They are hurting.

I got my 90-100% approved as they need me more than I need them. Strength in numbers, submit your requests and provide an ultimatum. Chuckie will fold. It's an awesome labor market.

Heck with PJs. I work in my underwear. Most of the times when I turn on video just have to remember don’t stand up.

Don’t worry, I’ve been told if you are vaccinated you have nothing to worry about. Lame excuse if that is the reason you don’t want to return. Be honest, it’s much nicer working in your pj’s.

Staffing in branches depends on the manager. Some branches are ghost towns with minimal staff while some managers think it makes a difference that the phone the FC is calling out from is inside an office building or a kitchen table.

The majority of walk ins aren't the clients Schwab wants us to work with anyway. Most walk ins are just administrative headaches or people that can be helped by phone or chat.

I'm in Marketing and my request for 90-100% was denied. Weeks ago. At least the denial was <24 hours by my first level manager. I'm gone. We're probably not going to require vaccinations even if OSHA goes through, we have state level politics and other considerations. Providing weekly testing for unvacced provides me with no comfort.

Marketing and the departments who fall underneath are being discouraged (highly) from requesting exceptions. Basis being "culture" and "this is the most flexible Schwab has ever been". (Which is not true. The past 19 months have been the most flexible.) So it's been clear as mud over here, especially since my department was originally given the green light, then was told to hold, and we're still waiting for final decisions, but so far it's been crickets. I really wish Schwab didn't give so much governance to individual department leadership. It should be an all or nothing approach. I feel bad for HR who will ultimately have to sort out the chaos that will ensue as people push back after finding out their friends in other departments were approved without hesitation. And for the teams who lose people come March due to the mixed messaging, lack of ownership to address employee concerns, and the obvious feeling of expendability all in the name of being "Schwab Nice".

Not going back to the office for a while, because I moved to a role where my whole team is virtual. I was hired in that way so my 90-100% request was approved. I may pop in to the office to say hi/social events after a few weeks if the vaccination or testing mandate is being followed.

My 90-100% was approved within a day. I’m never going back to that building. Moving out of the big city as well.

@1mjo+1dKNAq4X myself and the people I mentioned have already submitted the workplace flexibility form and received the mgr and mgr+1 approvals. I've not encountered a single person being denied but maybe my org within STS is more lenient.

As a betting man, I would say it's more than "strongly doubt". They ain't gonna approve the 90-100% remote requests.

Doesn't affect most people.. nearly everyone I know is submitting for 90-100% remote.

Most schwabbies will go with gut feeling and belief.
Whatever against their own self-interest.
