Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Unfair payment

I would be interested in learning why employees are sent to other club areas to fill staffing voids, but not paid that higher rate

I think we can all guess what the answer is?

It’s if u work of 50% of your scheduled hours in the higher paying area. Then they must pay you the difference

To add to that. This is why they want people trained in those areas that hurt so they don't have to use the same person constantly and can use people equally with zero repercussions. At least our club anyway.

Because technically they can, just not long term. It's like FT. They can't work you more than 12 weeks in a row without giving you ft status. So, they may work you 11 weeks, then give you a week or two of 24 hours. Then bump you back up to 40. It suits their needs without owing you anything. Same goes for working in other areas. If it's occasionally to help out, they can do it. But not if it is consistent. However, unless it is CPU or a specialist role things like that, everyone makes $15 minimum now. So they can use a floor associate in cpu to help as long as it's not daily for more than (I think) 12 weeks. If they do, then they would need to put that associate in that Dept or stop using them.
