I have been looking for a job that suits me for three months now. If we also take into account how long the interview processes in companies take, I increasingly think that it is not wise to wait for severance pay here and I will most likely take the next solid offer.
What can anyone expect here other than becoming a target, if not in this round of layoffs than in the next one?

You are correct! I would not wait for a severance package. I would jump for something equal or above current pay. More layoffs are coming at the end of Q1 and the environment will become more stressful to meet deadlines. Just imagine when management realize they laid off critical employees because they were unaware of the importance of the employee's role and knowledge. Considering the poor infrastructure and people working in silo...it will sink faster than previous estimated.
It is a hot job market--leave as quick as you can to protect your mental health. Good luck!
It's not that easy to leave this place.. The salaries Citrix pays are top and over market, especially for south florida.. They do this for a reason.
Technical directors at OVER $170k base... Managers at OVER $140k base... When I was technical director I was at $180k base.. JM Family was only offering $165k based.. Others were in the $150k's base. I finally had to go out of state to find comparable salary with an employer that offered telecommuting.
Good luck.
Ditto all the same for me.
