Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

What level will Oxy sink too next?

Now that Oxy staff on this board are denying the fact that Piper Alpha happened, denying the fact Gas line explosions, Libya illegal corruption and North Dakota billion dollar losses happened under the companies watch, as well as all the other things that make up the reputation of Oxy, what else will they deny? What level will they sink to in terms of denial over what they are and what their company represents?

Denying they ki---d 167 people in the North Sea clearly isn't the lowest level they are prepared to go too, so whats next?

Who are you? Please spend time enjoying your family, grandchildren, hobbies. No one on this board was working when these things occurred, none of the same leadership or board is at the company. Please find old cronies to commiserate your grievances. You have been ranting on this board for 10 years now. Please go away.

Remind me again who we are supposed to be blaming here.

@3tin, I didn’t say HR disclosed the reason for termination publicly. Not sure why you are saying that. I know the situation because I’m in the SCM department. Duh.

With most vendors, there is no prohibition against hiring ex employees as long as they don’t directly solicit those employees. I think that is in most contract templates, and I know from personal experience.

Hit a nerve? Yeah, it’s personal.

However, at least that current employee did acknowledge there is a “situation” inside their SCM department.

However, also claiming to have been privileged to information concerning an ex-employee’s termination. Not sure HR is supposed to disclose that publicly?

@2dq
Not sure where that issue registers on a personal level?

Little worried your too devoted to the big O and clouding your ability to understand the issue. If a SCM rep negotiated with one contractor on behalf of a large company then it’s not an industry secret they would’ve negotiated with all vendors in a specific category. So when leaving, they carry all contractors information to their new job, not just the one they went to work for. This is what some might call an “advantage”.

Maybe you should think through your next response. I don’t disagree that the issues presented in the original post is very much dated and had been very public at the time, so not sure why that’s even an issue now.

However, claiming to be a shining example of honesty and integrity present day is questionable at best.

Two things.

  1. One poster is having a hard time with the SCM situation. Must be something personal.
  1. OP needs some serious therapy. Ge-z

I’ve been told that they have opened the door to ex Oxy supply chain reps who quit and went to work for the very contractors they used to negotiate with on behalf of Oxy. No conflict of interest there at all…

Who denied those things? They are just so far in the past that none of us we’re around when they happened. OP, are you denying that you got fired for poor performance and mental instability? LOL
