I'm sure many others are facing the same thing at work. Two of the people in my group have been laid off and one left for a job at another company. My manager doesn't seem to care that we are short on staff and is directing the workload of four people that left towards me and another coworker.
We thought this was a temporary solution so we didn’t think much of it. Now months and months have passed and the situation has not changed. The manager always says that there will be new hiring but that is obviously not happening. I was never scared of hard work but this is just too much. I’m beginning to think that this is an effort to drive me out so they can terminate or restructure my group. What ever the reasons are I’m beginning to think is it worth it.

Feel you dude.. same thing here. Boss promised to hire a couple more people but don’t think it will happen this year at least.
