Took til Saturday this week, but the streak (sadly) continues.
Ford Motor Company is recalling one 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid over a high voltage battery failure.
The defect: in the affected vehicle, the high voltage battery may fail, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power.
The hazards: if the high voltage battery loses power, it will cause the vehicle to display a “Stop Safely Now” message on the instrument panel and the vehicle will coast to a stop.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: high voltage battery.
Affected vehicles: 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid.
The fix: a dealer will replace the vehicle’s high voltage battery.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on November 29th, 2021. The Ford reference number for this recall is 21S48.
