Office Closings

When the office closure initiative started in April/May 2020 sales teams were promised Regus memberships to work & have a place to facilitate client meetings. As the country comes closer to a post-pandemic society, will the Regus thing ever become an option?

The Regus plan first happened around 1992. All the talk centered around how to save money and move to opex spend. Clearly that went nowhere, kinda like some of the BUs back then. Regus was to take over the SJC and BXB campuses, and we rent space back in our “former” buildings. It seems that those campus buildings are steadily transitioning to new owners all on their own through the magic of some of the leadership. I don’t see why Regus would have an interest in our buildings in the future - WebEx and Zoom have taken a bite out of their market. In-person meetings are taboo, with a new variant every 45 days that will keep pushing back any re-openings.

chuckie, fran, and mm need to be shown the door. All are well above their capabilities. Of course it will never happen. All pander to the left. Two cover eeoc numbers. That alone gets you raises and promos. Totally sick hearing of the emails to bump up the salary or promote based on color, not performance. No kidding. HR sent out emails to do this last cycle is what I had heard. If true that doesn't help the already low morale.

Agree it is all smoke and mirrors, just like CR saying that there would be no layoffs at the beginning of the pandemic. CR didn’t have the boldness and courage to stand by it but sure can promote several to EVP.

The Regus plan is smoke and mirrors. It is charged to your Dept when you use it. Guess what, depts do not have Opex for it. It was all smoke and mirrors to make you believe it was an option.
