Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

I'm hearing rumblings of a layoff of almost all US based HCL employees servicing Ascension...

Anyone hearing anything about it?

Give it time, I'm already seeing issues with HCL and TechM dropping the ball on things. There transition of network and telecom duties is woefully underestimating the complexities of our environment, and monthly downtime tasks are a shambles. The risks to the organization are very concerning and I'm just waiting for a horrible critical failure to occur when it all comes crashing around. These mo--ns should be focusing on core activities of supporting what they have now with in-house IT staff. Drop that stupid Ascension Studios BS, and invest in talented internal staff to upgrade the systems and simplify it. Edwardo and Gerry and the rest should be fired, as they do not represent faith based healthcare principals.

@1keq+1dbMZhwD - I've read that HCL has done this at other companies they have taken IT over at. Hopefully, the folks who went to work for HCL have used the past year to get their resume/LinkedIn updated and start looking for a new job.

I think it's just a matter of time before HCL screws it all up, AT E-level leadership gets sacked, and they decide to bring it all back in-house. IT professionals in India get paid 25%-30% of what US professionals make but turnover is historically horrendous at IT firms in India with the average tenure being around 18 months (in the US it's around 15 years.)

You can move to another account within HCL or lose your job. Ascension doesn't anybody who was hired from AT working on their account. The are moving 100% offshore. Good luck to the people who are excited about getting offers from HCL.

You’re close but that’s not quite it. You have the “employees servicing Ascension” part right.
