Thread regarding Optum layoffs

They don’t know how to use someone’s talent

I personally haven’t had a chance to grow here and started looking for a new job. This is not a place that especially values talent or knows how to get the best out of its employees.
Because, how else to explain that people who were here more than undervalued, progress very quickly in much better companies and are much more valued there?

I applied for roles I was more than qualified or basically qualified for because I thought it was a good skill set. Turns out I was hired within 24 hours to work in a mind numbing position in a toxic environment. When I approached HR about this situation they had no answer except to say they would recommend me for internal transfer if I wished. After one internal interview it became apparent the position they wanted me for was a position with godawful hours with no security resources and would be on my own without adequate orientation in a customer facing position handling money. I never heard from the interviewing party nor did I follow up to express interest in the position.
Clearly management wants the unsuspecting types.

Capitalism is so cool because only the best of the best can work minimum wage jobs!

And the bestest of them can get jobs with an actual living wage and spin like hamsters.

  • Dont be a "company man"... they dont care about you -If they dont list the salary, dont call -Have a work from home model if your profession allows -Know who your bosses will be, and vet them hard before starting -unless you are commissioned, or get set annual raises, you more than likely will take pay cuts yearly due to massive inflation and other "excuses" to avoid paying you a fair wage that keeps up with inflation

We all deserve better, but we have to demand it. Unfortunately, with mainstream "news" (state run brainwashing) and other US empire propaganda, we're in a sour pickle once again. USAians never learn, it's part of their charm.

You live in the ONLY country in the world that has employment at will doctrine. They care hire, fire you for ANY reason, NO reason, ANY time. You don't have a real employment contract/agreement like everyother country.. Enjoy the doody show. Dance, prance, watch boomers and gen xers sing silly corporate american songs as they debt slave their way to that americant dream

Its proof you can be exploited even if you are disabled, or sick or whatever, as long as you can make them money it doesn't matter. We are all tools in the rigged American system and it's our duty to do as little as possible.

Once again shot down on a different role. Just lay me off and put me out of my misery. I read not long ago on a different post on here that Thursdays were the day they usually lay off. Does anyone have any ideas as to when the next ones are coming. What is this meeting on 10/14 any chances about layoffs?

I noticed a reply regarding Optum’s male leadership promoting women based upon dancing and drinking skills among others was removed. Watched this at OptumRx. Had a co- worker that was passed around like a hot potato. The audit guy, claims guy and compliance man. Some even had a key to her car to meet here in the parking lot as to not be seen in their car. She also had two iPhones. One for the husband and the other the the OptumRx guys. Such a sick organization. Also heard a former Rx executive who was married got a young admin pregnant. So disturbing. I know the women who partake are just as bad but no morals at the company.

I have attempted to apply for different roles that I am more than qualified for however have gotten turned down on every time. No chance of changing roles within this company. And they even encourage you to apply for other roles within company. Looking elsewhere

This company pushes people into roles for which they are not qualified for. The level of unprofessional behavior is unbelievable and embarrassing. And they don't care.
