In either the 1st or 2nd wave of these layoffs, we were also told by our THEN director (who, by the way, was definitely NOT for the decision) that their group was told that Ascension's clerical leadership was consulted and prayed over this move. Take that however you wish, I'm only relaying what was said.
But in the meantime, we still get the emails lauding Ascension "ICYMI" news from the fricking Good Day Ascension Intranet page. Pathetic.
"No more hollow hypocritical prayers and reflections" - I had to laugh when I read that. I worked for a vendor that the Ascension calls always started with "Reflections". (I used to believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause also). Always found it funny when projects started to go south, "Reflections" got darker and more menacing.
