1:1 With Supervisor

Is it me or with everyone; Whenever I talk to my supervisor I always get motivation to get out of here asap. How they lie to their teeth.

My micromanaging self serving manager has a monthly meeting that I dread. It soo obvious she lies, 46Is insincere and just looking to steal ideas. I agree, I can’t wait to gtfo out of these meetings.

Since back in office, my 2 one-on-ones with the Chief have been conducted from separate stalls in a privy/loo/restroom. So there is still no actual face-to-face.
Fine with me.
I suspect that 2:30 on Thursdays just happens to be my Boss's "PM BM" time.
Or could be Policy.

My boss is talking to me tons not because he’s checking up on me but because I’m working on interesting stuff and he wants his technical skills not to get too lost as he manages people for a little while…and I’ve had others who just genuinely liked talking. So I wouldn’t say talking to your super a lot is bad, it’s only bad if they’re doing it in a parenty “did you do your homework last night” sort of way

Rule of thumb: the more time your boss spends talking to you, the less secure your job is.

If your boss is constantly calling you into meetings, texting/checking up on you, and digging through your work, it’s time to find another job.

My supervisor is useless. Manages upwards and his own career well, no connection with anyone below him in his team. Like you said, uninspired after each 121.

Same. I like my supervisor, treats us well, keeps it real. One of a handful of reasons I'm sticking around for the moment. Some sups are terrible though, like at any job. Seems like we stop decent people from advancing somewhere in the middle management ranks... Probably because you can't get higher unless you're willing to do some questionable stuff to get ahead. Hence the rot at the top.

I like my supervisor. Trouble is higher up in Org. Probably varies by supervisor. I am in Permian.
