When hiring new hires, hiring managers get hiring “points” per HR for their teams if they hire other than White so Raytheon can be more diverse… wait 5 years and see if the Company will be better being diverse rather than hiring the smartest and elite

I'm a hiring manager. I don't get points for it, I have never been asked about their gender, race, etc, and I have never been told you need to stop hiring straight white males. Sounds like a sh---y rumor to me. I do see however their DE&I reports from RTX talking about trying to be 50% women in all leadership roles.
I'm given a list of resumes from HR to chose from. I haven't even interviewed a non-white male for a beginner/intern position for at least 20 years, unless they had "non-white" sounding name or had a 4.0 GPA from a prestigious university.
Over the long run. this actually makes for MORE white men in technical leadership roles, because they are more competitive/knowledgeable/try harder.
Outside Recruiters are telling me this, too
I propose they don't care to consider 5 years out as far as quality of product....it's all about the gov't contracts. I imagine if your level of diversity if higher than your competitor you will help have a leg up to capture those contracts.
It's true.
If this is true It’s a disgrace
Where have you seen this? Or were you told?
