Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Will Fiserv give an ultimatum for non vaccinated employees?

With the return to work in full swing, what is the status for unvaccinated employees? Will they force them to get vaccinated to return to office, or just eliminate the position to back fill in to NJ?

@1bkl+1dill5K5 Yes the lives of everyone that die from the flu matters.

That's why every year flu shots are made.
That's why every year (assuming you go to one) your doctor will recommend you get one.
That's why every year the CDC will recommend you get one.

The difference from covid is three fold, first the incubation period, second the transmission rate, and third the mortality rate.

Incubation rate for the flu is 1 to 2 days. This means, when you get the flu you will know you have it within 2 days. Incubation period for covid is 7 to 14 days. Assuming precovid times, how many people do you come into contact over a 1-2 day period vs a 7-14? Once you know you are sick, hopefully you will stay home, however covid also has this nasty thing with people being asymptomatic, so they continue to spread it.

Transmission rate for covid is higher, but I don't have exact facts on that. Basically put you have a higher chance of giving it to someone when you get it.

Mortality rate should be obvious, 1 in 500 people on the Earth have now died of covid.

To sum it up, the flu is bad, but covid is much worse. With protections (masks, etc.) it's been more than 10 times worse, putting a strain on the medical system. The most notable being that people are turned away at ERs and then die from treatable conditions.

Hey you guys…there IS NO enforceable mandate for private companies yet. Companies can decide to mandate, but don’t be mislead to thinking “they have to bc of the new law”. The DOL has to create the regulation - there is only Biden’s directive for them to figure it out! Also, govt contractors will NOT be forced to vax their folks NOW, under their current contracts, as that would be a new condition. And if companies DO decide to require a vax, they must consider exceptions - THAT IS law. Don’t give up just yet.

"Stop comparing it to the flu. Approximately 739,000 people have died from covid in the United States. Last month 57,100 Americans died from it, 54,700 were unvaccinated, 2,400 were vaccinated."

I stand by my analysis. Tens of thousands of people die from the flu every year.

At a run rate rate of 50,000 per year, that's 500,000 people dead from the flu over ten years.

Did the lives of those 500,000 people over ten years matter or did they not? If they did, why have we never had a flu vaccine mandate?

Answer my question.

"The moral argument put forth here says that those who don't get the vaccine are putting others at risk. Recall that we have a flu season every year. In a typical year, around 40,000 people die from the flu in the United States. In a bad year, it's 60,000.
There has never been a mandate for a flu vaccine. Why not? Don't those 60,000 lives matter?"

I consult health professionals for advice regarding the COVID 19 vaccine. The last place I would seek advice is on a message board like this.

@ycv - award for the best post today.. even with the vaccine (got mine in April) there still is a one in ten chance of breakthrough covid.

Many of us vaccinated adults are not terrified by those whom are unvaccinated. Adulting, try it.

So so.. true. Now get back to work Frank is watching.. :-)

GeT vAcInAtEd Or GeT fIrEd! lol. Too many halfwits here.

If we are vaccinated are we not protected? We are required to wear a mask in fiserv offices. Does the mask not work protecting you?

If we are vaccinated and wearing a mask, we are doubly protected. Why are you wetting your pants about others whom are not vaccinated? Many of us vaccinated adults are not terrified by those whom are unvaccinated. Adulting, try it.

Many of us worked on site without issues during the height of the pandemic BEFORE a vaccine. If this is so dangerous, why is fiserv pushing to bring everyone back into the office? Stay home; dry your pants, stop virtue signaling.

I love how the people that profess to be tolerant and accepting of others are the least tolerant and accepting. Welcome to tyranny.

Dear readers, look at the content of the comments here. Who are the ones who sound unreasonable? Take this, for instance:

"The unvaccinated are among the worst Americans in history who likely support the worst single American in history."

So, the unvaccinated are as bad or worse than slave owners? Worse than the K-K? Really?

And 'the worst singe American in history' is Trump, I presume? Worse than John Gacy? Worse than Jeffrey Da---r? Worse than Timothy McVeigh? Really?

Folks, this is what brainwashing looks like. A lot of people have a TV between their ears and call themselves intelligent and informed. The abrasive tribalism has got to exhaust itself at some point, doesn't it?

If you aren't vaccinated at this point, you have demonstrated both a severe lack of intelligence and lack of concern for the people around you. The unvaccinated are the reason why we are still stuck in this mess. It is obscenely selfish. I hope the company does fire the unvaccinated. I have zero sympathy for those who have spread misinformation. The unvaccinated are among the worst Americans in history who likely support the worst single American in history.

Yes, Fiserv is a govt contractor and legally they must mandate a vaccine.

"Anyone that refuses to get vaccinated should be laid off. No one is interested in sitting next to you all day. Not to mention, you’re probably a conspiracy theory believer which means your a dimwit. Just sayin."

Just sayin this attitude and name calling is negatative and divisive.

"Anyone that refuses to get vaccinated should be laid off. No one is interested in sitting next to you all day. Not to mention, you’re probably a conspiracy theory believer which means your a dimwit. Just sayin."

If the vaccine protects you, why would you 'not be interested' in sitting next to someone who has not received the vaccine? The whole reason you got the vaccine is because it works, right? It's DUH SCIENCE, right?

The moral argument put forth here says that those who don't get the vaccine are putting others at risk. Recall that we have a flu season every year. In a typical year, around 40,000 people die from the flu in the United States. In a bad year, it's 60,000.
There has never been a mandate for a flu vaccine. Why not? Don't those 60,000 lives matter?

Are you making the argument that the unvaccinated can make COVID worse? Like with Delta? Realize that escape variant mutations come from those who have been vaccinated, not those who have not been vaccinated. It's natural selection. The same reason that antibiotic-resistant bacteria emerge in hospitals where antibiotics are commonly used, not from environments where antibiotics are rarely used. (It's the same with antifungal medications).

I agree that getting the vaccine - and thereby getting exposure to a neutered version of the spike protein - makes the most sense as the lowest-risk option out of all the options. Getting exposed to an unmodified spike protein 'in the wild' is the highest risk option.

But with the adverse reaction reports through the roof, the inventor of the MRNA vaccines (Robert Malone) expressing caution and most of all anecdotal reports that should send shivers down people's spines, it's no wonder that there is hesitancy toward temporarily hi------g your body's RNA to manufacture a slightly less dangerous biological we---n than what was created in Wuhan.

It's certainly not just a 'conspiracy theory' concocted by 'dimwits'. Let people decide on their own. Issuing mandates for medical procedures is invasive, dystopian and just downright creepy.

You make some excellent points, but it should be a personal choice. Especially when pharma can't backup what they are selling. Plus the FDA getting threatened for not approving the booster and Fauci keep changing his mind on things. Some would consider vaccinated people to be dimwits that are getting experimented on, just sayin.

By the way, the “governor enforcing no mandates” will never hold up in court. The Supreme Court has ruled on these kinds of cases dozens of times. In every case, the employer had the right to do what they feel to protect their business and their employees. You’re certainly free to not get the vaccine. Just know your employer is also free to fire you if you don’t.

Thanks for playing.

If you havent contact your governor to ask your governor to not enforce vaccine mandates. Good luck though if you live in NJ.
