Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Do we really need another reorg?

I don’t know if any reorg in the past has made this company any better. It seems to me that after each reorganization this is becoming an increasingly dysfunctional company.

7cez+1dinZjhM I worked for PNR for 12 years before taking a package, and I can tell you that from all my time there, that this the single best explanation of what’s wrong with the company I have ever read. It’s sad to realize that this continues until today and that a once great company is simply coasting on its single brilliant business decision- it never sold its original Permian assets.

The company continues to remove the people that got them to where they are because those people 1) do the work that provides value to the company, 2) management sees them as a threat to their existence and 3) management has no idea who does the work.

This is why, for years, the most underperforming employees were moved up and now the company is paying the price.
