Boeing generally lays off when the economy is the worst. When it’s the absolutely worst time to be looking for a job That’s when you can expect a layoff from Boeing.
After the attacks on 9/11 the aviation industry was in trouble and Boeing took it as an opportunity to lay off tens of thousands of employees. The aviation Industry did not pick up for years later it was one of the worst times to be looking for a job in that industry.
After the Covid pandemic it was a repeat. Aviation was again in trouble and Boeing again took it as an opportunity lay off tens of thousands of employees.
It was probably the two worst times to be looking for a job in aviation and these were two of the largest layoffs in it’s history.
The reality is Boeing does not care about the hardship faced by its employees. They generally have always laid off employees when it’s the worst possible time to be looking for a job. The company has no ethics and only cares about the bottom line and bonuses to the board.
Yes.
They just laid off 21 of the corporate internal audit department. Nothing but chaos in that department.
Kicker is they layoff and turn around and hire new employees.
I like the new transparency. You really have no value. And apparently your skills have no value either.
Nothing on layoffs yet, just more bad press re: the quality on the Dreamliner:

Too many people retiring and leaving per day. They are actually starting the hiring process soon. No layoffs.
Anything major coming?
