Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

I hope karma does its thing

It is impossible for a company to treat its employees in this way without regretting it in the end. I wish that would happen. Only then will they realize that we are not all so replaceable. In any case, we can always find better jobs, but Ascension can hardly find employees who will work more for less!

The HCL and Accenture folks that I have been training seem to be Tier 1 Help Desk level, they do not comprehend the Analyst, DBA, Sys Admin aspects of the job and they are overwhelmed. The language barrier is massive, particulary when it comes to their difficulty to communicate clearly and consisely in writing, grammer and sentence structure is rough.
The other thing is that they appear to only be working a half day. They are not available after noon Central Time for training sessions. Is this part of the deal that now support will only be available the first half of the day? S#!^show.

I expect that there will only be a few who leave due to the COVID vaccine mandate and those will be people who were thinking about leaving anyway. Most people whom are complaining are doing just that, complaining…

Leadership has again shown their ignorance of the actual work of patient care. Already people are leaving over the vaccine and the deadline for full vaccination is within days of the full overseas takeover of IT.
Better get some scrubs ready Gerry and Edwardo! Ever give a bed bath or help with toileting? You'll be fine...

Karma is a concept of Hinduism: beneficial effects are derived from past beneficial actions and harmful effects from past harmful actions. Applicable not only to the material world but also to thoughts, words, actions and actions that others do under our instruction. As one acts, so does one become: one becomes virtuous by virtuous action, and evil by evil action.

The truth is that if you sow lies, deceit, theft and other things that pertain to the 7 deadly sins, you will eventually reap the just desserts for the evil that you've sown, either in this life or the one to come.

Good Luck BigA 'leadership' and mouthpieces, triggermen and those just following orders, you're gonna need it and those 3 Hail Mary's every Sunday just won't cut it.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how F'd up this is all going to get in November and December. For those that got let go, I pray you all find something soon, outside of this place. To the ascension senior leaders, you all have no idea how F'n short sighted you are to consider profits over the safety of patients. I'm getting the popcorn ready cause it's about to look like the parade scene in Animal House. Just picture Edwardo or Gerry yelling "All is well, remain calm". I hope this all turns around to bite ya all in the a-s

Whomever posted the main question "hoping karma does it's thing"...well I can say with almost 100% confidence that it will. Far be it from me to speak on the behalf of the rest of us, but I can personally state that while "transitioning" these new groups, good Lord, this is going to be a S-show after we're gone. BUT, I've been wrong plenty of times and can freely admit it.

I actually pity some of those that applied for and received AT jobs because of the mess that they're about to inherit. I've already absorbed plenty of complaints from end users already, and they haven't seen anything yet. Again, that's just my opinion.

I’m sitting on the couch, popcorn ready, for the eventual implosion of ascension. Most morally bankrupt organization I have ever been associated with.

Not our problem anymore but we are allowed to enjoy the schadenfreude just a teeny tiny bit. The only 180 I'm worried about is the one the Big A does when they sit on it and rotate.

Know your worth. Do a 180 and don’t labor over it.

It’s not your problem anymore.

Yes they are about to find out what a mistake this was. Been short staffed for 3 years at least in IT and work only got done due to the existing knowledge base, years and years of progressive ministry and technical experience kept the place running. It is impossible to transfer that no matter how good the documentation is. Best part is clueless leadership painted an inaccurate picture for the outsourced companies. A few weeks of shadowing is not going to cut it. And it is IT, it's not even possible to predict what could go wrong, only that something you have never seen before will.
