With Windstream management drooling over infrastructure funds while denying non-management emplyees a raise. It is time for ALL employees to unionize. If management fights the effort then bye bye goes the government funds. Of course they could give rank and file raises but I do not see this happening. Time to stick it to Windstream leadership is NOW!!!

When I look at the gravy train the ILEC techs have with the CWA contract, it really makes me feel like the CLEC side should do the same.
Management screws us because we don't have a union fighting on our behalf.
Windstream's more rural ILEC territories are in areas with less competition than the bigger markets where there are so many CLECs. _If_ properly managed, staffed and funded, Windstream should be able to compete.
Most small, independent telcos are doing well but they are well-managed, they have the people they need, they invest in repairs and they're not afraid to invest money (fiber) to make money.
I think most are probably non-union -- that's a benefit from treating your people well.
Whatever their drawbacks, ILEC unions are probably the least of Windstream's problems these days.
A union only benefits the ILEC side of the house. This is why CLECs were successful and ILECs failed for 20 years to compete. We are past the point of no return
