I can take a lot of things but a verbally abusive manager not being sanctioned in any way and allowed to continue being belligerent toward his direct reports is not among them. I'm planning to give in my notice within the next few weeks whether I find a new job or not. Enough is enough.

Unfortunately you can’t go to HR because they will just help you get fired. Hope you find something soon.
The problem is how the company is structured. Management is a VIP club where they protect each other, they never fail and are never wrong (even when it's blatantly obvious that they are horrible at what they do) , and will use everything you say against you.
Had a boss like this at a previous company. Life is too short to work for or with a—holes and id--ts. Best of luck to you!!
You can find rude id--ts in all companies. Report this one to his/hers manager, hr etc - just for the greater good of other folks.
Then quit either way - Sabre is not a good place to work in the long term anymore - no matter the creeps running it.
And if it's happening outside of US then do what?
Accept your fate and allow your "manager" (probably one of those Girls That BS that bring diversity to the company) do what they want?
If this is happening in the US document it. Keep any emails. Report the person to HR. If the person is using foul language, degrading you or such.
