Retiree Healthcare Going Away

How long before Ford goes this route now that Vanguard just kicked their retirees off the "promised" healthcare coverage for retirees.

Vanguards original plan called for immediate cancelling. After much push back from retirees they will allow them to assimilate into Marketplace plans at the end of 2022.

Loyalty is a two way street. Buddy Hackett made over $80mn for basically doing nothing. But he was well compensated for it. You make a promise you keep it. I can tell you this is really a gut punch. So I will do 8 hrs. of work and that is all. I will not ki-l myself or sacrifice for this company anymore. Not worth it. If HR reads these post. here is one for you.
If I know what I know now. I would have left or never excepted the offer from Ford. Second I told my niece who you offered a job to avoid Your company and to leave the state and avoid automotive. Ford is not the place to work like it once was.

Capped since 2006 so it really doesn't matter much. The company aligned their open enrollment with the ACAs - this has been going for at least 4 years. !st it's the retirees next - guess what is next active employees...................

has been capped at the same amount. Beginning
January 1, 2022, Ford will deliver the same capped contribution via an HRA.
Q. What contribution amount should I be expecting?
A: Your exact HRA amount is based on who you currently cover, as described below. Note: the
amount is capped, which means it does not increase from year to year; it also does not roll over
to the next plan year if you don’t use it.
The annual funding (credited to your HRA in monthly installments) for 2022 is:
 $6,000 / year ($500.00 / month) for retiree
 $6,000 / year ($500.00 / month) for eligible spouse
 $3,400 / year ($283.33 / month) for each eligible child
Q. Do I have to use Via Benefits to buy coverage?
A: You will want to enroll through Via Benefits for a seamless and personalized experience. Via
Benefits will be your advocate, perform a cost analysis of the HRA vs. Premium Tax Credit (PTC),
help you opt into your funding election, and support you during and after your enrollment.
They will also be the ongoing administrator of your HRA.

Retiree benefits will handled by Via benefits in 2022. Just waiting to see what type of plans they have & how much they will cost? Ford is giving retirees money to use to buy our benefits from Via. Plan info comes out November 1. But as of January 1 Ford will no longer be overseeing benefits for retirees.

It's already been announced by Ford and discussed on this board that starting in 2022 retiree healthcare sponsored by Ford is being replaced. I can't recall all the details previously mentioned. Maybe someone can help provide those details?
