Maybe I don't understand the math very well, but.... Getting rid of best employees I would never call 'cutting costs'.
Verizon is getting rid of people who do great job to later hire people who are neither doing their job well nor are interested in their job. How is that cutting costs?

@1rqj+1dpt1I7e but... wait. I was told by all the posters in the office that diversity is our strength? Once we hit 100% diversity (no more white folks), we will finally be able to reach our maximum potential.
The managers that let you go better pray that some of their 1st levels don't have private information on them to expose. A lot of them cheat on their spouses and forget they do. The ones that know and have proof are waiting on the right time. Pictures and videos
Job: An exchange of services until it is no longer good
And it is no longer good
Don't forget there is a 4160 hour rule for contractors. They have to be replaced or terminated when they have worked 4160 hours.
@1wbx+1dpt1I7e Don't know what dept. you are in but in IT, they are removed and replaced by contractors, H1Bs, and/or outsourcing. Good, technical, talent. All you have to do is look at our systems today and you can see what has happened to the quality of the work.
I have never seen a good employee removed from the company, they get shuffled around every few years.
Oldest trick. More sow contracts is more money paid to their families in india. Indian companies are extremely corrupt
Dude, what math? First VSP, second beefed up onshore and offshore with consultants/sow. Each team onshore is having more than 50% sow , contractors on H1B visa. They will make it skinny before handing it over completely to third party sow , contractors on H1B visa. Mgrs and above needed for coordination.
NTC, CATC, VNOC. Are no help. Mostly newbies.
In IT it was about getting rid of original thinkers who were not yes people just for the sake of pleasing the big boss
Yes people who root when chennai is burning is preferred
We will just become like the rest of the services out there. The bar just keeps going down everywhere.
