If they knew what they could be making at T now with access to the company jet when retired ....sort of like how old football players who played 30 years ago feel today with knee problems .

your question is moot. Past CEOs continue to enjoy massive compensation packages and perks including access to company aircraft
None of them are in need of cash. It's a rite of passage to get all you can get while you are in a position of power. Randall is just making sure the fifth generation of Stephensons are well cared for.
Every CEO that has retired from the company retained some use of corporate aircraft after retirement. it's part of their employment contract.
