Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Tired and overwhelmed

I have prioritized looking for a new job because I know that I will not be able to continue to work at this pace much longer. I’m too tired because the amount of work that I'm doing should not be done by just one person. If I compare last year and this one, I'm certainly doing 40 percent more. Out of pure curiosity, how much more (or maybe less) do you work compared to the previous two, three years?

My former team of 15 people lost 2 people to RIFs a year ago and we were already overworked. We all got stuck with a ton more. I left in the summer and my boss didn't even have approval to replace me at the time. A former teammate told me they finally hired someone to replace me, but that person needs to be trained, so 12 people are trying to do the job that 15 used to do. So glad I left, it was just too much. Get out if you can.

Don’t give up. I am a survivor. I promise there are MUCH better companies to work for. If your confidence is down, try to to fight that. That is one of the things that keeps us rooted where we are. They beat you down until you feel trapped.
This though is something you can control. Lots of thoughts thrown your way.

Way too much. I have an interview somewhere else on Friday and I'm hoping it goes well because I'm in the same boat as you. You'll start landing interviews, too!
