Yep, C&CS is pathetic. Most FLMs/SLMs are drifters from other divisions and were useless much earlier. With no ground knowledge they get to make all decisions in C&CS. No surprise products are subpar, hardly anyone good wants to join/stay there. Well established ecosystem of layered-managerial sponges. Jump out or be drowned.

Evidently the Cashier Machine division They were made in the USA baby
Does not matter which division or department... you just need to know how to swim to keep your head above the water.
I’m in CIO and it’s good if you negotiate a high enough salary up front. Excellent WLB and my team has really good engineers. Most left to Tesla, Amazon, etc over the years … some forcibly moved to Kyndryl :(
Research, Data and AI, and Red Hat would be my other choices. Select blockchain groups in GBS if your not US (their cheap and offshoring. Managers non technically and clueless)
My guess. Anything manager and above. You don't have to do sh*t, mess things up, not be accountable for anything, and have a lifelong job.
Do not go to CIO they are 99% finance and accounting and 1% programmer. I was there recently and they have no idea what they're doing. Systems is good for the people you'll work with - but pay usually lower and products typically old. Some very old (z/OS). With IBM specific code nobody else uses anywhere. Honestly, cloud and Data are likely the only good spots left unless you're in Research. IBM Research has super smart folks in it still but they're another thing altogether and you generally need a PhD.
mailroom
Or you can go back to school, Law school specifically… I hear that the Legal department at IBM is hiring big time.
Cio

MainFrames (low pay though)
Cio doesn't make any products so it says a lot about ibm that execs spend money on their stupid pet projects
Red Hat??
I just sp-t my coffee out lol
C&CS was the last good place to work, but not anymore. Don’t go there for sure.
Can't you read...the McDonald's division is the future.
C&CS blows. A few of us trying to move to CIO. Hear good things from there.
Resource Action Department in HR
Nice try HR
Can confirm. CIO is solid right now.
