Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Internal corruption investigation?

I know there was investigation on internal corruption and bribery to government officials in China and a few other countries several years ago, just overheard it's not over yet and quite a few people have been asked to leave. Any insider info? Just another political witch hunt or they got caught by regulators?

Yes AIG is trading near its 52 week high, almost as high as when PH was let go five years ago, great job BD&PZ!

OP here again. Re: Zaphod Beebleblox

Short the stock and post fake news on a message board with 1K viewers worried about layoff? LOL isn't Quora a much better place? Or ANY board discussing Wall Street trading.
I know it because I know it, don't ask me why or how as I said I won't self identify. But honestly I just overheard it's still on and not sure if it's true, that's why I'm asking here. And I don't know if it's just internal or already up to SEC, so not a surprise if your buddy at SEC doesn't know it - btw, there's a division specialized in anti-corruption at SEC, if your buddy's not in it he's not supposed to know it.
And WSJ and Financial Times? Unless AIG self-disclose (obviously not the case), what can they say even if they know something? AIG has unlimited budget for lawyers to defend its "reputation". Not to mention even your buddy at SEC doesn't know it LOL.

P.S. On the PICC story, I did my research as well, don't know how much AIG made in the deal, but yes, PICC's ex-President (NOT CEO) Wang Yincheng and former chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission Xiang Junbo are both in prison now.

Last but not least, so many "dislikes" (and "likes") on my post already told me the answer.

@Zaphod Beebleblox. Love the name. AIG is exactly like the Vogons. Look it up for those that have to seen the movie or read the book.

I’ve not heard anything, buddy at SEC hasn’t either. If this had any legs then the WSJ and Financial Times would be all over it.
Maybe it’s someone who shorted the stock and is trying to plant negative news in an effort to push the stock down, because it’s trading near its 52 week high

AIG earned $2 billion in the investment of PICC, the largest insurance company in China, CEO of PICC and top official of Chinese insurance regulator were later arrested for corruption. But NO, as you all know there's not ANY corruption or bribery behind the AIG-PICC story.

Worked in China for 3 years, what I can say is I don't know and never heard of it. But don't understand why someone else can say there's no investigations for ANY corruption for so sure? Unless you're at high level of legal/compliance, or, you're PZ himself...

Heard of the story in China years ago, don't know if the case's still open. Not a surprise they did sth nasty there (and anywhere in the world) and not a surprise they got rid of some scapegoats when got caught.
