Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

I like my job at BH

I understand why so many people are dissatisfied, but where else could you do so little for a decent amount of money? Enjoy the gravy train while you can, folks! You're going to be wishing you were back when you leave and start working for a company that actually expects you to do your job!

All these comments about chemicals are very unfair. What you fail to realize is that the leadership team between them have AT LEAST six months total experience in the field. With this level of customer intimacy, we can only succeed!

Why, I heard that a certain head of technology’s big breakthrough came early in her career after she spent a month or so working with customers to fix a nagging invoicing issue. This was such a success that she was immediately catapulted into a Regional Director position! It is said that, despite hemorrhaging market share, she did such a good job as a regional director that when she moved on she never once felt the need to pick up a call, reply to an email, or respond to a text message from that region ever again.

Now that is leadership!

The last 2 comments does sum it up quite well. One hand you have the leader that’s way in over his (no, HER) head and minions that self promote and brown nose so far up that they develop gills on their neck to be able to breathe.

Together, they high-five one another in public, but they make it blatantly obvious to the rest of the team that they are two peas in a pod. They’ll make decisions behind closed doors and will ultimately determine the fate of the other worker bees that handle most of the work. Those individuals can only stand back and see the corruption taking place and can’t do anything about it.

You see, if they complain to HR…well that isn’t going to bode well. They are on the managers side, always.

That last comment totally misrepresents Sugarland.

You’ve also got to be a shameless self promoter, almost entirely at the expense of your colleagues or employees. You got to take all the kudos while stomping down on the people who actually did the thing you’re taking credit for.

want a place that gives a lot of money while doing so much less. Sugar Land Chemicals is the right place for you. If your strength is a yes maam type of job, no knowledge required, just be good at passing the blame to others, this is the ideal place for you.

This is so true! And a good way to look at it. I’m going to enjoy my free paid time from now on. There is no leadership so who will ever notice.

Poor work ethic, poor work performance and laziness are dominant traits in Aberdeen office. That’s why they have no work. Once a few key people left it fell like a house of cards. They were warned but didn't listen.

Fully agree; where else can you sleep on the job and sleep with someone in the job!
