I know stating the obvious! After I retired last year….stopped and talked to a fiber crew. One tech I had worked with. ATT has bulked up the fiber crews AGAIN for another big push…..but of course after getting everyone in place they CANT get the fiber!! 😂😂😂 So of course everyone standing around with there thumb up there bu-t! #clueless

Fiber build isn't like going to 7-Eleven down the block and get a large slurpee. It takes some brains, a lot of planning, and customer support.
The executive ranks are not knows for their brains or planning. Plenty of customers are way too pi---d off to help. And why should they? They can easily pay the cable guys to hook them for high speed service, granted might not be a gig, but why waste time and energy to help T get through the regulatory mess.
Step 1. Build out FIBER to customer homes (pay exorbitant prices and slow ramp up), Step 2. Collect BILLIONS from customer for FIBER services (recoup the wasteful spending in step 1), Step 3. Once FIBER penetration is optimized, lay-off all of the people who built it out in Step 1, use the continuous flow of BILLIONS to buy other d-mb companies like DTV and WM and get back in debt. Step 4. Go back to step 1 again.
I'm retired. I made at least $150K napping, shopping, pretending to be busy.
My boss knew it.
But it's not my job to find myself work. I wanted to stay busy.
Move the truck every 30 minutes.
Stay on the cable route. Throw some stickers on a ped.
They are clueless.

There is a fiber shortage, not just with AT&T. We need a couples miles of a high count for a move. bosses are checking spools around the country.
