Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Well it’s less than a week away from Christmas and Macy’s is still trying to hire seasonal employees. 🤣
Macy’s screwed their long term employees by paying the seasonal’s that they were able hire up to 7.00 dollars an hour more than some loyal employees.
Now that Christmas is almost here the new hires who are being paid more are calling off and quitting so they can spend Christmas with their friends and family.
Macy’s management as usual looks like a bunch of id--ts. They really need to take a lesson on how to run a retail establishment.
Hey JG take care of the employees who are loyal to your company and invest in them. How are you and your top cronies going to spend your nine million dollar bonus this year ?

The regional for the mid Atlantic region is a joke as well. Arrogant and self centered move this here and this there and on the next visit the same areas are moved all over again. He knows we have no help but that doesn’t seem to matter. He comes in dressed in sneakers , skinny jeans, flannel shirt or T-shirt and a blazer. Really ? I thought that job was to be professional and set an example.
And I wish someone would explain to me what the regional visual person is supposed to be doing ? Talk about a position that should be cut. She spends her time shopping.

Used to work in Washington and couldn't agree more about the DVP but she takes her style from the regional leadership. Never seen so many self-centered executives tasked with leading store teams. Not an iota of empathy or compassion in the bunch, try reaching out for help with fulfillment and they send you copies of the company policy. Store visits are like funerals and then the DVP's have to give a bu-t kissing recap on of how much they and the store appreciated the visit. To succeed here you have to spend all your time telling your bosses how great they are and how much you appreciate being treated so poorly. Great place to work if you're a masochist with no self esteem.

I don’t think it’s Macy’s fault but Macy’s thinks it’s the store’s fault for not able to fill these jobs. Act like we don’t have labor shortage. Act like we don’t have competitor taking our labor shares. That’s the problem.

I don’t know what the point is but for me having this many open jobs is a factor to why we have a hard time getting the store recover, servicing our customers, make our sales plan, getting fulfillment done. That store is on of the 3 big stores within 25 mile of each other which already share labors in the area but also Targets, JCPenny, Nordstrom with in the same mall of each of the store. And also there are Amazon warehouse, Boeing that take our labor share. Yet they are told it’s their fault for not making progress and offer no solution and making it sound like there is no labor issue today. They are offered no sympathy. They are offered no help. Every Monday all of them sitting in the office listening to Region and Division call and speaking of how great it is and no problem what so ever because everyone is afraid of losing their jobs if they speak ill of the situation.

What is your point? All stores have openings…. Are you saying its macys fault?

Ur exactly right! The DVP for the NW/Oregon Division is horrible!! Everything comes above the employees! She treats them like trash, but wants them to ki-l their selves so she can look good! Another reason why we can’t hire!!!

Be faster and easier to post if any stores have 10 openings or less.

I know that store. It’s one of the big 3 stores in the area lol. Their DVP is horrible. I have heard while her stores are on fired and everyone working their as--s off exhausted, the DVP was taking a picture with a stuffed moose…

Lol that is ballsy. I am the sole individual who knows the numbers in my store. I'll say 33 open, average store employee population is around 100.
