Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Mild strain means we'll be going back to the office soon

I don't like it any more than any of you do, but I think it's a done deal. Omicron is significantly milder than other strains and the number of hospitalizations caused by it is very low. While we are seeing a jump in the number of cases, for as long as hospitals are not overwhelmed this is not going to be treated as an emergency that requires people to stay at home. I expect there'll be no more delays in RTO.

WFH extended. As coronavirus infections are running high with highly transmissible omicron variant, the odds of being infected with “both the flu and COVID-19” are higher, and the U.S. will see more cases of this “flurona” in the near future, experts warn.

Yeah, I'm not sure where some of you get your numbers. Hint: They're trending upwards in a scary way again.

I’ll continue working from home. I’m not going into the office which will 100% lead to an infection. I’ve avoided Covid for this long, not going to be pushed into the fire just because our leaders are feckless.

You always have to see what the wealthy do to actually gauge the threat. Davos cancelled, bill gates tweeting that he’s cancelling all plans, conventions cancelled, Grammys cancelled, CEOs working from home etc etc.

If it’s not safe enough for them, it ain’t safe enough for me. What the media loves to gloss over (because they’re owned by money hungry corps,) is that even mild cases, even asymptomatic cases, can lead to long Covid and neurological problems. Not willing to risk that for anyone, and especially not for this low paying job.

For the last month, the weekly US death rate is between 9K-11K. I think it's premature to pop those champagne bottles. Plus, the bureaucraps .and pharma will not let this go away. There is too much profit to be made all over the economy via 'inflation'....Thanks Jerome....

Nope. I ain’t going back until at least springtime. As long as cold and flu season is in full bloom, I’m WFH. And no, I am not getting a 3rd shot.

Hospitalizations in NC from COVID are higher than ever right now and I personally know people that have died this week from it so there’s that.

Not sure what part of the country you’re from but the Tri-State area, specifically NY/NJ has over 5000 hospitalizations and the numbers are continuing to spike. Not sure what the rush is, to RTO. Public transportation is relied on heavily in these areas and they were germ tubes prior to the pandemic.
